Umeå center for Functional Brain Imaging
Umeå centre for Functional Brain Imaging (UFBI) was established in October 2001. The overall purpose of UFBI is to support and develop brain-imaging work at Umeå University and the University Hospital of Northern Sweden (NUS). UFBI is primarily concerned with functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), but ongoing multimodal studies combine different imaging techniques (e.g., fMRI BOLD imaging with SPECT dopamine imaging). Examples of ongoing activities include studies of training-related changes in functional networks, age-related changes of functional brain responses, studies of motor control, eye-movement recordings in combination with fMRI, and clinical imaging projects on stress, stroke, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease (NYPUM), and presurgical mapping.
UFBI is founded by Umeå University, Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation and the Swedish Science Council.
Swedish summary / sammanfattning på svenska
Umeå center for Functional Brain Imaging (UFBI) etablerades i oktober 2001.
